4th of July pics

Well, i'm only like a month & an half late on these ones. I just can't seem to get the no-kid time to mess with my pictures until all the kiddos are in bed. Caden & Kylee just want to yap my ear off and Mason can't wait to get his hands on the keyboard or the wireless mouse. I finally managed to get these ones edited to print so I can work on a scrapbook layout.

This day goes by so fast every year. We go to the Summerlin Ward's breakfast and flag ceremony, followed by the Summerlin Parade. After traveling between familys' houses, eating, hanging out, we end the night with fireworks- by far Caden's & Kylee's favorite part of the holiday. The best part of all is Mason's birthday the next day, so we get to celebrate all over again.

Birthday @ Brio's

Bret & I got to go out to dinner at Brio's, where his friend works. It is in the Town Square Shops. It was so yummy. It was so nice go get a night out. We had a late soccer game that night as well (which we won) and Bret's mom kept all the kids over night! What will I do with no baby to wake me up during the night? It was a fun night and bret got 2 of the 3 things he wanted- hockey sticks, new shoes, sorry no wii fit. Happy 26!

Happy birthday dad! (8-3-08)

Here's the story.....These hats are autographed by Tiger Woods and Davis Love III. This was Tiger's 1st win as a pro golpher and took place at the TPC Summerlin golf course here in Las Vegas. Jacque and I were in the VIP booth that our dad's work had overlooking what I think was the 18th hole. The hats were originally bought for her and I, but immediately following the tournament, our dad snatched them and took off towards the clubhouse where with the help of Kelcie's friend's parent, they got autographed. They had turned up missing not long after and remained in a safe hiding place un benounced to us until 2 months ago.


We could't wait to get back in town to celebrate your birthday. Two months ago, the idea for this present didn't exist. It wasn't until our mom found the hats in her cedar chest- where they have likely been for the last 12 years despite all our searching. As soon as the hats were discovered, us kids decided to come up with some kind of display concept.

The best part of all was seeing your face as you tore through the paper to reveal the display. We hope you liked it and that you can find a suiting place for it. Love ya.

Sweet Tooth (8-6-08)

I think I finally found something that mason will eat- Rice Krispie Treats. Normally, Kylee has first dibs on the spoon when I make them, but Mason was right there and waiting this time. I think if I'd given him longer, he would have probably eaten through the spoon as well. Taking the spoon away was no easy task. He also has a more than generous way of sharing- when I would take a bite out of his rice krispie treat, he would proceed to try to feed it to me until it was all gone. What a plus for me..

LeiLani, Jami & I met up with Tina in at of the restaraunts her family owns. It was so good. Tina navigated us through the menu like a pro. We definitely didn't go hungry. This happy get together also brought us moments of sadness. It was also a goodbye to Jami and her family. They are leaving us for Colorado. Joe- get your school done already and get your family back to Utah- we miss you guys. Tina- we'll see you soon. Bam and Lei- you guys are also missed- nobody can replace you and your family. We can't wait for the September visit. We're already planning a winter trip. Til then..

Trip to the Salt Lake Temple (7-30-08)

This turned out to be such a beautiful shot. The sun seemed to make the temple glow and the water looked like it was neverending. I haven't been to the Salt Lake temple grounds in years. It was wonderful. We took the tour of the General Conference building. Our guide had so much information for us. We got to take pictures all along the way- I think that was the best part. We also went to the Joseph Smith building to see the Joseph Smith movie. The little kids were getting restless so we had to slip out early. It was so great to be there as family. It was neat to see Caden read the names of the prophets out loud and to recognize the ones that he and Kylee had learned about.

While in Utah, we visited Layton Hills Park. This is a place where my sister and I visited often when we were little. It has changed alot, but it is fun to bring our kids to years later. We really wanted to feed the ducks and got our last chance the day before the trip ended. We were so busy this week, I don't know if any of us just sat back and got to relax. The duck pond was beautiful and so peaceful.

Planes & Trains- whats next! The kids had so much fun seeing the planes & trains. Here's a funny story about Jonathan- it reminds me of how children are so observing and can see things that adults would never think of. The trains had to be Jonathan's favorite stop. He can point out train tracks out of eveyday things such as an air vent, the no-slip lines in the bottom of a bath tub, the sides of a basket, and even a waffle fry. Trains revolve around him- it is so adorable. The rest of the kids just wanted to explore and check things out.

I'm back!!!

Ok, so i'ts been a long summer, and I am way out of touch. I have so much to catch up on, but I am so behind and I don't know where to begin. So here I go. I am just going to have to work my way back. Let's begin with last night. Bret and I were watching 'The Bucket List' when all of a sudden, Mason comes walking over. We were stunned- we knew Mason was so close to walking, his first steps were in early July, but we didn't expect to witness it together. It was amazing. (by the way, sorry it's sideways, I couldn't figure out how to fix it.)
