Mason's 1st Tooth
It's official! The first tooth is finally here! Yaya noticed it last night as she was giving Mason a taste of frosting from Caden's cake. I think the one next to it is on its way too. I am so excited to finally have a place to bookmark this event since I failed to make note of the handful of Mason's other firsts- rolling over, sitting up & getting his feet to his mouth. All those kinds of things come and go so quickly.

Caden's 7th Birthday

Today was Caden's 7th birthday. We had planned to go out to dinner with all of the family, but he was sent home early from school yesterday with pink eye, and by late afternoon, both he and Kylee had it in both eyes. After a last minute doctor appt. it was determined that he also had an ear infection, but it was nothing a little Augmentin couldn't fix-yuck! Going out to dinner to celebrate was out of the question, so Bret gave him let Caden pick what he wanted for dinner and of course he picked McDonalds. Afterwards he got to open presents. Yaya came over with a cake. As of tonight he got a target card, a rechargable razor scooter (from yaya), and a superheros Marvel game. Saturday he wanted to go skating at Chrystal Palace with his friends Devyn and Jarom. In 2 weeks is his and Kylee's combined Candy Land birthday party. Yikes, I haven't even gotten the ivitations out. Anyway, we had a nice evening, his eyes and ear are getting better and he should be back in school on Monday. I can't believe how time flies. In just over a month Kylee will be 5 and in just over 4 months, Mason will be 1. Slow down time!!!!!

Missing Child...

Kylee is notorious for falling asleep in the most unusual places. This morning at 3am Bret went room to room saying goodbye to everybody as he does every morning he has to work. (he has to work the entire president's day weekend) On this particular morning his goodbyes ended one short- he couldn't find Kylee. He woke me up to give him any ideas as to where she might have fallen asleep. She doesn't like to sleep in her room, so she usually bunks in Caden's room, on the floor at the foot of my bed, or in the loft. She wasn't in any of these places though. Finally, Bret discovered her sleeping behind the toy bins under the bunk beds in Caden's room. She had Caden's pillow and blanket under there with her. The story according to Caden later was that he told Kylee she could sleep there and gave her his pillow and blanket so she would be comfortable. She woke up shortly after I took this picture and come downstairs cryingthat someone took a picture of her sleeping, but she was ok with it when Caden read this story to her on the computer.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is pretty low key with our family- sort of a hallmark holiday. Having school parties and playgroup parties makes it so the kids get to celebrate it with their friends at least. We made our 'infamous' soft sugar cookies, and packaged them for Caden's 1st grade class and all of our close friends and family. Before the night was up, I managed to sneek a couple of shots of the kids. We skipped out on our Valentine Party playgroup cause of the windy weather. Caden and Kylee had alot of fun handing out their cookies. That doesn't compare to Mason- he got to play with all the papers and noisy candy wrappers.
